How’s about ya? Hey, my names William Barr, feel free though to call me Will (I don’t mind I’ve been called much worse before) and I’m a 3rd Year student at the Swansea Institute (or Swansea Metropolitan Uni as it is now known, apparently) where I have been “studying” 3D computer animation... by which I mean really just messing around making cartoons, not regretting deciding not to do that engineering degree right now (asides from being hideously unqualified to do it I imagine it wouldn’t be just as interesting).
Anyway, as I said for the last three years I’ve been learning all this CG animation malarkey in Swansea, Wales, although originally I’m from Ireland, more specifically Northern Ireland, and a place called Ballymena (no, not Ballamory, a common misconception). Whist across the water I have learned to a capable level (ie I know at least 10 keyboard shortcuts) in the following wonderful programmes; Maya, Photoshop, Premiere and After Effects. Fascinating stuff. |
Although when not working diligently I may well be found on a hockey pitch (typically injuring myself in some newfangled way), in the gym (see previous), trawling around the nearest Tesco Extra in the small hours with a couple of the lads (just for the craic, as the Irish would say... referring to nothing medicinal there) or alternatively sketching naked people in a vain attempt to improve one’s somewhat sporadic drawing ability.
As well as that I’m also a Christian, one of the “born again” types. I’m sure everyone has their own idea about what exactly that means, but I’m more than happy to have a chat with anyone about my reasoning behind believing what I believe, that or life, God, where we’re all headed etc, all those big topics really. |
Finally, finally, some interesting factoids about me...
+ I have a large scar on my upper lip attained whilst involved in a cycling accident when I was 18, I used to be very much into road racing once upon a time (a la all that Tour de France stuff).

+I have been mistaken for both a Canadian and Australian on the same day (I have no idea why).
+I recently bought
Amy MacDonald’s

album and discovered that she is actually awesome.
+The music on my showreel is by a bloke called Mark Stoney, he's very good and I recommend that you check him out via his website...
+And to end all of that, if you wanna be in touch with me to find out anything else, feel free to drop me an email, or you could even add me as a friend over ye ole Facialbook and we can chat more.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the site! |
